Technical editor saves the day . . .

. . .  or at least my sanity.

I really enjoyed designing Duplicity, a reversible cabled sweater, for the Knit Picks Independent Designer program. It was fun getting a big box of gorgeous yarn in the mail, and it was fun swatching, and working up the prototype. Even writing out the pattern instructions for the protoype was fine. Making coherent instructions for the other sizes was a huge challenge, though. My wonderful tech editor Shelley Reichelt was infinitely patient with great suggestions and an eagle eye for typos and wonky math. If you ever need help with your own patterns (or essays, or your Masters Thesis), I can recommend her services whole-heartedly.
